At its heart, the AUC-33 Orchid is an excellent ukulele with a laminate spruce top and laminate mahogany back and sides, but it features a design twist: it features amazing artwork on the soundboard.  There have been no shortcuts taken with the design of these instruments–they sound and play as good as they look.

Okoume Neck & Walnut Fingerboard

The neck of the AUC-33 is made from African okoume, and the fingerboard is walnut. This is a great combination that guarantees a stable intonation across the fretboard. The neck feels amazing in your hands, and looks fantastic!

Of course, it is good to learn how to play the ukulele without using a strap, but why not use a strap if you can have it both ways?  Strap makes holding the ukulele easier so you can keep playing for hours.
